Knoxville, TN -- If you could eat a great Saturday morning breakfast, and at the same time help send an underprivileged or handicapped child to a local summer camp, would you do it?

Here’s how…
On Saturday, April 21, 2007, from 7:30 to 11:00 a.m. you can enjoy a great Pancake Breakfast, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Knoxville. The $5 you spend to feed your family will help pay for a scholarship for a child to go to The Kiwanis Fresh Air Camp, located on Prosser Road about a mile past the Knoxville Zoo. These children, are unable to attend other camps, because of their physical or emotional handicaps.

The Pancake Breakfast venue will change this year. It will be held at Second Presbyterian Church, 2829 Kingston Pike, 300 yards west of Neyland Drive. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the door the morning of the event.

The Fresh Air Camp is located at 2400 Prosser Road, about a mile from the Knoxville Zoo.

One hundred percent (100%) of the money raised at the pancake breakfast is used to pay for scholarships for approximately 250 Knoxville area children.

This marks the 85th consecutive year the Kiwanis Club of Knoxville has operated the Fresh Air Camp,
and the Pancake Breakfast is the only fund raiser for camp scholarships.
Every dollar raised makes difference in a child’s life. You can make it happen.

Most of our campers have multiple emotional, psychological and/or physical handicaps, which make it hard for them to attend other camps. We design our camp for these young people with special needs, as our primary focus. It is wonderful to see these children in a camp environment, free from the struggles and conflicts of their everyday lives.

It costs $150 a week to sponsor a child. If you would like to help send a child to the Kiwanis Fresh Air Camp, a donation of any amount can make it happen. Every dollar $ helps.
